Where Can I Buy Refurbished Bass Boats?
___________________________________________________
Do you have plenty of time and
patience? If
you’re a fisherman, refurbishing a used bass boat might
be the project that will suit your desire to have a
usable boat that will be well worth the effort, and
something you can be very proud of.
On the other hand, if you don’t
have time and patience, or don’t enjoy “handyman”
projects, eBay sells lots of already refurbished used
bass boats.
Also
www.BoatTrader.com and BoatPronto.com are helpful
places to check out used bass boats.
The Bass Boat
Outlet is dedicated to the specialty market of new and
used bass boats.
Another option is BoatXchance.com who advertise
they have lots of used refurbished bass boats.
Ranger Boats is a world renowned
manufacturer of quality freshwater and salt water boats,
including bass boats.
They handle used refurbished bass boats as well.
Going back to the fisherman who
really wants to refurbish his own boat, I once had a
neighbor who was given a used bass boat by his
father-in-law.
After taking a look at what I thought was a total
piece of junk, I was convinced that this guy wasn’t his
father-in-law’s favorite person.
I’m sure he wasn’t even on his father-in-law’s
long list of favorite people.
But the guy was really excited about re-doing the
thing. I
stayed a little interested, just to see if it were
possible to refurbish this old bass boat.
Especially since the men in my family are all
avid fishermen – enjoying many various aspects of the
sport including bass angling.
My neighbor was really a
“do-it-yourself” sort of guy, unemployed at the time,
had lots of time and the patience of Job.
He discovered right away that the boat would need
a lot of prep work.
He had to wet sand the boat to get rid of the
scratches.
He found out that if a professional did it, it would
cost about $500 but would be worth the expense.
So he went ahead and hired that out.
If the scratches go all the way through the gel
coat, fiberglass work would be needed and the price
would go up.
Fortunately that wasn’t the case.
When he was about to paint it, he liked to say
“Paint is only as good as the surface it’s bonded to”.
But he’d done his homework well.
He tested a small area, and the paint didn’t peel
or separate, indicating it was bonding well.
He ended up with a great looking bass boat and
was obviously proud as could be whenever he’d go off
fishing. And
for my interest in his project, my husband and I were
often the recipients of some of his catch.
In 1978 Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris
changed the industry when he introduced the Bass Tracker
aluminum boat package to the world.
For the first time anglers could purchase a boat
as a complete “ready to fish” package.
His boats came with custom trailer, fish finder,
trolling motor and power-matched outdoor motor.
Today Tracker Marine Group is one of the world’s
largest and most popular boat builders.
They emphasize innovations and excellence.
